guinness cheddar bread
top of the mornin’ to you. It’s St. Patrick’s Day this weekend and in honor of the holiday I have taken it upon myself to make and taste a beer bread that is worthy of celebrating. I had no idea how easy beer bread is and how darn tasty it can be. Please don’t worry, no pints of Guinness were harmed during these trials. Just a few were consumed all in the name of the job. It’s hard work this food blogging.
what you need:
3 cups flour sifted
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 bottle of Guinness (poured into a glass)
2 cups shredded irish cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
what to do:
preheat oven to 375
sift flour (this is essential!) and mix with other dry ingredients
add the beer (make sure you pour the Guinness into a glass first)
stir thoroughly
add cheese and mix together (I used my hands to do this)
put into a greased loaf pan
pour melted butter over bread dough
bake for 50-60 minutes, until golden brown.
cool for at least 15 minutes
serve and enjoy.

I am just a girl who loves to cook, entertain, and eat. I also happen to be a mom, a preschool director, a blogger, and someone who hopes to find a way to incorporate all my loves to buy a beach house in Costa Rica…or maybe just a book about the beach in Costa Rica.
